I am very happy to present you the project : « Building Bridges beyond the Wall», it is an exchange programme for 50 young people from France and Europe and 50 young people from Palestine and Israel.
It will take place during the first two weeks of August, at Faraa, in the north of the West Bank, in Palestine. The participants will be lodged in the youth centre of Faraa. This project is initiated by the GUPS, General Union of Palestinian Students. Moreover it is supported by the Union Juive Française pour la Paix, UJFP (French Jewish Union for Peace).
The GUPS regroups Palestinian students in France and has three main functions:

- To carry the message of Palestinian youth for peace and justice,
- To animate student, cultural and social life of young Palestinians in France,
- To construct bridges between French and Palestinian youths, through cultural activities, journeys and meetings.

The UJFP is a French citizens association for the promotion of a dialogue and of a peace based on international law. It regroups hundreds of members and constitutes an essential partner for well-balanced debates, as well as for deconstructing aricatured representations and fighting against communitarianism. GUPS and its partners, through the project « Building Bridges beyond the Wall », wish to: give the opportunity to 50 young European people of different origins to discover the reality in Palestine and Israel, through a program of visits and meetings solidify the possibility of an active solidarity, by proposing different solidarity workshops which aim to animate the cultural life of Faraa make durable links between young people in France and in Palestine, by proposing introductions to European and Palestinian cultures (language courses, dance, introduction to history...)
